Dimensions Festival, one of the hottest festivals this year, is just around the corner, literally. Located near the Adriatic Sea, the strong heritage of Fort Punta Christo will be brought to life between August, 30th to September, 4th.
A five-day musical expedition awaits us in Istria, Croatia. Taking a strong focus on diversity, the line-up this year consists of live acts and DJs, ranging from house to techno, soul, disco, jazz, dub, world and beyond.
Tickets are currently selling for £120; early bird tickets are also available. We invite you to book your place at Dimensions Festival 2017 now. For info about tickets, please check http://bit.ly/20juIAz.
Once there, we recommend that you see:
Leading Dimension’s bill is Jeff Mills, one of the founding fathers of techno. A real virtuoso who redefined modern music and culture since the early 1980s. Formerly known as The Wizzard, Jeff Mills has overcome any boundaries by cementing his name as one of America’s greatest DJ, record producer and composer. Catch up with him at Dimensions Festival on September, 3rd at the Clearing stage.
Following Jeff Mills performance at The Clearing is Nina Kraviz. One of Rusia’s most influential artists will steal the spotlight at Dimensions Festival. Nina Kraviz is well repected for her daring and energetic sets that always create a powerful bond on the dancefloor. Her passion for records and outstanding taste for idiosyncratic electronic music, has determined her to run her own imprint ????(pronounced trip), which won record of the year by Mixmag in 2015, following on from the huge crossover success of “I Wanna Go Bang”.
Berghain resident, Marcel Dettmann, will take part in this year’s festival on Friday, September 1st, at the Garden stage. As DJ and producer, he is well known for his contribution to the techno industry. His sets are a perfect blend of pure techno, mixing old and new banging Chicago tracks. Marcel Dettmann is constantly pushing his own concept of electronic music. This desire has grown on him since his youth. Having been raised in a small town near Berlin, he started out by selling vinyl from his own home. His own label MDR chases new talent for the techno scene, releasing timeless and innovative productions.
Joy Orbison has achieved underground success with his very first single HymphMngo on Hot Flush Recording in 2009. Ever since, he has been an inspiring DJ and producer of his own kind, combining genres like house, two-step, jungle and dubstep. His brand of garage-house is what made him build his own label Hinge Finger and as well as create numerous mixes for Radio 1 and Ministry. Don’t miss Joy Orbison on Thursday, August, 31st, at The Void.
Co-founder of Hessle Audio, Ben UFO will perform at Dimensions Festival alongside his partners in crime Pearson Sound and Pangaea, on Auguts, 31st, at The Mout. Their Hessle Audio imprint has been responsible for some of the most diverse and ground-breaking releases London has launched in the past few years.
Ben UFO is one of those rare cases of artists that make an impact as a DJ. Without a production career to fall back on, he has earned his success as a selector and mixer of exploratory sounds amid house and garage, dubstep and grime. His commitment to experimental dance music, has built him a strong reputation as well as a vast collection of records which reflect London’s constant progress of forward thinking music. https://soundcloud.com/blowinguptheworkshop/benufo
And this is not even half of Dimensions Festival. There’s more, like boat parties, beach takeovers and a whole load of new talent. A perfect combination of local to internationally acclaimed artists, that always deliver top notch musical experiences.
Another highlight of the festival is the opening concert, which is held in Pula’s ancient Roman amphitheatre. The monument will be hosting thus far the utmost performances from legendary Grace Jones, Berlin’s super-group Moderat, Brownswood’s cosmic adventurers Yussef Kamal and award-winning drummer, composer and producer Moses Boyd who will be presenting his Solo X Show.
