Camden considers building a statue of Amy Winehouse

The Roundhouse music venue in Camden decides to build a statue of the Rehab singer, acknowledging her contribution to music. Her father Mitchell says “ It will be bronze, life-size and on the first-floor balcony next to the Roundhouse bar. What we'd like is to have Amy leaning over the balcony, looking and perhaps pointing towards Camden Town from Chalk Farm Road."

Amy Jade Winehouse passed away 11 months ago, after a long struggle with drug and alcohol abuse. She was found dead in her north London home, the exact cause of her death being yet undetermined.

A venue spokesman said: "We think it's important that Amy's contribution to music is recognised in Camden, but the idea is in its early stages of development at the moment."

Amy’s family has recently announced that her house will be sold for £2.7 million.
