Kudos Fest made its nest | Event review

Setting ashore in midsummer, Kudos Fest made its nest on the Black Sea coast at Kudos Beach, Mamaia.

The event presented by Cyclic Agency and Kudos Beach Club emerged as one of the most exciting festivals this year alongside the littoral, holding out three days of clubbing on the beach with some of Romania’s most loved DJs, as well as distinguished artists from abroad.

This year’s 1st edition of Kudos Fest dropped in at the end of July, perfectly sliding through the middle of summer, the event crashed Friday 27th afternoon and burnout late Monday morning. The party kicked off with Mano, Proof and Mahony messing up stuff in the sun, warming up beach lovers, after which they moved inside the tent and were joined by Hot Since 82, who threw off an excellent performance. In the meantime, YouClubVideo set up its team backstage and began streaming live to youclubbers who couldn’t reach the event, or didn’t want to miss one of your favorite acts. Clubbing deeper into the night, the cool and keen duo Audiofly entered the stage at 2:00 am playing a dirty electronic sound, followed by special guest Ray Okpara, manifesting his original groove that makes you smile and loose yourself at any moment. Jay Bliss continued from 6:30 till 9:00 am when Almond Lama took the music outside, down on the beach and high in the sun for party people who don’t stop.

Saturday suntime is screwed dementia by Atapy, Mihai Popoviciu, Alex & Mircea Babescu, Mano and Jay Bliss who lead the party into dark, switching back inside the tent after sunset where Mihai Popoviciu performed another wonderful set. Russian DJ, Izhevski stole the show from midnight till around 2:30 am pushing the sound into deep minimal techno, while Infinity Ink spread their color around with an incredible gig, mixing and singing live at the same time. With a Funktion One sound system and delicious exotic dancers on stage, it almost felt like one night in Ibiza! Clockwork punched the clock at 4:30 am stirring up the party with a dark and funky sound, approached by Toygun at 6:30 am who shot down the tent at 9:00 am when Mano took his toys outside to play.

Sunday funday, music in the sun with Mano & Proof till 5:00 pm, Adrian Eftimie and Optick entered with a few sneaky funky sets up their sleeves, meeting with Izhevski later on in the evening and all together twisting the night party into a wacky mashup, ending late Monday morning.
