Linkin Park 'Living Things' reach no.1
The hip-hop infused rock band climbed atop U.S. charts scoring 1st place on Billboard 200 with their latest album Living Things.
According to Nielsen SoundScan numbers, Linkin Park sold 223.000 copies, which is just 1000 over Maroon 5's Overexposed. The album Living Things hits no.1 in the U.K., Germany and Japan, bursting into a global smash. It's their 4th consecutive album that hits the no.1 spot (Billboard 200), an achievement no other band as ever gained, four out of five albums, the only one which didn’t hit no.1 was their first album in 2000, Hybrid Theory.
With Maroon 5's new release featuring the single Payphone on 2nd place, Justin Bieber's Believe falls down to no.3 with another 115.000 copies sold.
Meanwhile Adele's 21 is the biggest best-selling album of 2012 selling over 3.69 copies so far, she remains in top 10 on 7th place.
Carly Rae Jepsen is still dominating Digital Songs Charts, with 251,000 downloads of "Call Me Maybe" sold last week, as Katy Perry's "Wide Awake" follows 2nd with 207,000 downloads. Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know" is the best-selling digital single this year so far, with 5.50 million copies sold.
