Ricardo Villalobos headlines Kazantip 2013

The Ukrainian festival will reach it's 21st edition this summer and they are out to make a blast with an impressive line-up. The particularly peculiar and somewhat controversial gathering aboard the Crimean shore of the Black Sea will spread across two weeks this year (last year it lasted for 3 weeks) and it's going to last from July 31st through August 14th.

Ricardo Villalobos has been announced to headline joined by other important names in the business like Ellen Allien, Jamie Jones, Laurent Garnier, Guti, Ame or Art Department.

2013 also brings some changes, as label showcases are taking the stage. Major labels will have parties this year at Kazantip like Luciano's Cadenza, Circo Loco with Matthias Tanzmann and Tania Vulcano headlining, Dixon for Innervisions, Loco Dice will represent Desolat, M.A.N.D.Y and Booka Shake will play for Get Physical and techno duo Pan Pot will play for Mobilee.

However techno and house are not the only genres displayed in Crimea this year. Drum&Bass fans will enjoy a Pendulum show, Shpongle will play for psy trance fans, and the big-room sounds fans will see Markus Schulz and Ferry Corsten. Dutch Dub FX, as well as Terry Poison and Assai will heat things up on the already famous Faberge dance floor.

Kazantip's line-up this year is the best they have had so far, and it seems like the "republic" is out to attract more and more "citizens" each year. Despite a controversial image it has because of a movie hosted on Vimeo from a few years back, Kazantip is now looking to change all that and prove itself as a must attend. With an unique concept, it affirms itself as not just a party but as an "independent republic", a place of relaxation with it's sunny beaches and as "President" Nikita affirms "an attempt to create a new, improved society."
